Business Basics
The “Business Basics” course is designed to help strengthen the skills and knowledge of small home-based child care providers, and center-based child care providers. This six hour course aims to help providers effectively operate and manage their businesses, discover solutions to existing issues, and plan to meet the needs in their community through high quality care and potential business growth. This course is also designed for anyone interested in starting a child care business. There is a $10 non-refundable fee for this course that helps cover the cost of materials. This class will be offered in Cody, Cheyenne, and Riverton. Seating is limited, advanced registration is required.
Leadership and Management
This six hour course is designed to strengthen a child care provider’s leadership and management skills by identifying their personal strengths and potential areas for growth. Each participant will complete a Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) instrument. The MBTI is one of the most widely used instruments for understanding human preferences, behaviors, and interactions. Using the results from the MBTI, participants will discuss their own preferences and how their management and leadership styles work with other types. In addition, participants will explore how to build a winning team by understanding and appreciating individual differences and by using these differences constructively. There is a $10 non-refundable fee for this course that helps cover the cost of materials. This class will be offered in Cody, Casper, Laramie, and Riverton. Seating is limited, advanced registration is required.
Cradling Literacy
The Cradling Literacy curriculum, developed by Zero to Three, is designed to enhance the skills of child care providers as they support early language and literacy development in children from birth to 5 years. The main focus for this four hour course will be on Early Language and Literacy Development as well as the Active Learning Environment and the importance of Cultural Differences and Family Relationships. This course is being offered to any child care owner, their staff members, parents, as well as any interested parties. There is a $10 non-refundable fee for this course that helps cover the cost of materials. This class will be offered in Laramie, Cody, and Riverton. Seating is limited, advanced registration is required.
